An Introduction to Low Carbon Housing Refurbishment
The Construction Products Association (CPA) and the RIBA have published an updated second edition of their retrofit guide An Introduction to Low Carbon Domestic Refurbishment. The first edition was written by John Willoughby and Peter Rickaby of Rickaby Thompson Associates, and Liz Warren of SE2 collated the case studies. The new edition has been updated by Peter Rickaby, and includes eight new case studies collated by Chloe McLaren-Webb of SE2. The guide starts from first principles, covers statutory approvals and retrofit funding, and then deals with floors, walls, roofs, windows and doors, air tightness, ventilation, heating, hot and cold water, electric power and other issues.
