Ian Orme qualified in Building and Civil
Engineering. Before joining Rickaby Thompson Associates in 1998 he spent sixteen years with the Wimpey Group, joining Wimtec Environmental as Principal Engineer in 1996. He also spent a period in the Building Research Energy Conservation Support Unit (BRECSU), where he managed contracts under the Energy Efficiency Best Practise Programme. He is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) through the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme, a BREEAM Assessor, an accredited Low Carbon Energy Assessor through CIBSE, and a leading consultant in the ventilation of buildings. He now specialises in building performance assessment, including energy rating, environmental assessment, fuel and water use monitoring, temperature monitoring, thermal imaging and ventilation testing. He is also active in training building and housing professionals in all aspects of low carbon design and refurbishment, presenting lectures, seminars, workshops and courses throughout the UK. ian.orme@rickabythompson.com |
