Peter Rickaby studied architecture at
Cambridge University, and holds a doctorate in energy studies from the
Open University.
Before founding Rickaby
Thompson Associates he worked in leading architectural practices in
Britain and New Zealand, and as Assistant Director of the Centre for
Configurational Studies at The Open University, where he researched
energy related aspects of urban and regional planning.
He is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA)
through the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme, an NHER Trainer,
and received NHER Home Energy Rater of the Year Awards in 1995 and
2000. He is also an accredited Low Carbon Energy Assessor through
CIBSE. He is a member of the Social Housing Group and Steering Group of
the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes, and of the RIBA's Climate
Change Board and Ststainable Futures Committee.
He teaches regularly at
Cambridge University and is active in training building and housing
professionals in all aspects of low carbon design and refurbishment,
presenting lectures, seminars, workshops and courses throughout the UK
and Ireland.
